SwineCast 1045 Show Notes:
- From the 2018 Midwest Pork Conference, we learn about moving the needle on piglet survivability with Kurt Nagel, Director of Sow Production, Belstra Milling Company Inc. Kurt details several of the key factors on calculating piglet survivability and challenges producers by asking if they have the right tools.
- One area, with respect to pre-weaning mortality, that can bring the biggest change is how to handle fall behind pigs. Kurt says they don't have the "right answer" but it is an area where Belstra Milling continues to focus.
