Meggie Foster is an editor at Farm World newspaper, which serves a seven-state area including Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Kentucky, Michigan, Tennessee and Iowa. Extended biography
Meggie Foster grew up on a small dairy and grain farm in central Ohio, where her family raised registered Jersey dairy cattle. In 2005, Meggie graduated from Purdue University with a degree in agricultural communications, with a focus on animal sciences. Following graduation, Meggie worked for the Indiana State Department of Agriculture for two years as a communications specialist, until her current employment at Farm World newspaper in Knightstown, Ind.

In addition to her role as the livestock editor at Farm World, Meggie has also been a freelance contributor to publications such as American Cattlemen, Corn and Soybean Digest and Indiana Prairie Farmer. In October 2009, Meggie was selected to participate as one of 11 farm journalists from the United States and Canada for a seven-day fact-finding mission to Germany that focused on the role of green energy in German agriculture from Oct. 4-10. In 2008, Meggie and her husband Dallas embarked on their journey to farm full-time in Greenfield, Ind., by forming Foster Family Pork Farms, LLC. Today, Dallas and Meggie farm more than 500 acres in central Ohio and Indiana, as well as operate a 500-sow farrow-to-finish operation.

In her free time, Meggie enjoys showing her small herd of Jersey cattle at local, state and national shows, as well as riding her horses.
