The Animal Agriculture Alliance (Alliance) Board of Directors recently named Cliff Becker, Vice President and Publishing Director at Vance Publishing’s Food360°, to Chair the non-profit organization. Becker, who also operates a small cow herd, has served on the Alliance board since 2004.
“Helping the Alliance communicate reliable information on behalf of America’s farmers and ranchers is important to my company, the companies we serve and every person that depends on livestock agriculture, from corn and soybean growers to restaurants and grocers to consumers,” said Becker. “Everyone involved in the food chain can best combat the outrageous claims of animal rights extremists through proactive efforts to ensure animal well-being. That being said, when anti-agriculture groups regularly exercise hyperbole to make their case, a reliable group needs to be able to correct the record. I consider the Alliance to be in an excellent position to fill that much-needed role.”
Becker joined Vance Publishing in 1989 and now manages eight media properties and their related businesses, including Pork Magazine, Drovers, Dairy Herd Management and the AgriTalk radio program.“We are excited to have Cliff Becker in this key role,” said Alliance Executive Vice President Kay Johnson. “He is a well-respected leader who will provide critical guidance to ensure that we continue to build upon the Alliance's previous successes.”
