2016 Leman Swine Conference Conversations throughout the Allen D. Leman pre-conference on Saturday and Sunday, as well as the Monday and Tuesday conference programs, were centered on moving information from researchers to producers, and vice-versa. 2016 World Pork Expo, June 8 - 10, 2016, Des Moines, IA, USA. There were many conversations about how the Veterinary Feed Directive (VFD) will impact many organizations in the swine ecosystem. The main message was "you should be starting now to be ready by January 1, 2017". Additional presentations shared the environmental and economics of swine, how Checkoff funds have been allocated to promote pork into the summer and fall, and "What does happen during a Common Swine Industry Audit?"
